My Favorite Picture

This picture warms my heart, my mommy heart.

For some reason did I collect all (actually missing one pair that our dog ate) of my daughters riding boots.

From when she was three years-old, riding in south Italy, until now, 13 years-old in Germany.

She had a “break” from riding when she broke her femur, in a horse accident. Ollie was only 9 back then, and it was the worst evening in my life.

I asked her a couple of months later, when she got off her wheel chair, if she couldn’t consider starting playing golf!

Well no way! She got back on the horse(s) and started jumping…however, and recently she started playing polo —one kind of hitting a ball.

I am a proud mother!

Horses as Teachers

0

Since 1997 hade I been working with horses in many different countries. I never trained the horse, I trained the humans (owners and groomers) how to get more out from your horse. (And yourself)

Psychology, health, training, competitions, but mostly, communication between each other.

When the horse becomes a machine, and the horse only “stands” there, the danger have occurred.

His spirit is “locked down”! You will never become a better rider (owner) when you stop listening to your beloved team mate.

One groomer put her horse carrots on the ground outside his open box.

He saw them and it was a delightful temptation for him.

Other Horses with their groomers walked by. The horse with his carrots without reach, put his ears back and threaten the passing horses.

He looked like a crazy horse! Evil!

I could see why, but the others didn’t understand him.

The groomer got irritated and slapped him, not ones, but three times, hard in his face.

This is what I teach. The small signs the Animals shows us, the small communication that gives us the big picture. To become a better teammate.

Animals don’t judge. They are actually our teachers and I, am only the translator! It is difficult not to judge, that is why I admire Animals.

We humans, will always be students our whole life!

Horses put a Spell on you?

0

Horses truly got the ability to heal people. They are fantastic teachers to build up your inner strength. Even quicker than an psychologist 😉

After my first lesson with a great German instructor,  I felt right away terrific. I admit, it was scary wonderful. My legs were like spagetthi when I jumped off. And the horse speed felt like 100km/h even when he only trotted. But I did it!

I even got to borrow a horse dictionary; English/German/French

Trying to understand what it is I am supposed to do on top of the horse! Umsitzen, ganze bahne….!

After my first riding lesson  I went home to my son (9y) Some time later he lookes at me suspicious and said, “Mom, did the horse make a spell on you? You are so happy!”

Glad he noticed. He didn’t know that I had started riding instead of eating pills.

And, I feel great continuing riding, I am doing something for Me! I feel alive.

Importan How your Day Starts

lessons-in-life

Morning Glory for all of us. When Animals wake up they take their little time before going out greeting their new day. Stretching and many times they “only sit” still for a moment or two.

Many of us adults start with meditation or yoga, or a cup of coffee in the quietness.

Homeschooling children is a wonderful (right now for us) happening in our life. I try to start a couple of days in the week with some thoughtful words for them to carry with them during the days.

This morning we read this together. I print it out and hang it on our billboard as a reminder.
