Note to readers; the barbed wire is only symbolic and doesn’t exist.
Everything comes to you when you are ready, and your thoughts are no longer like a ping pong boll game inside your head from doubts. When your thoughts are in peace somewhere else working with something totally different than your dreams.
Our Miracle 26 years old came to us like the biggest surprise ever. I wasn’t looking after a Senior horse. However, we do recall me saying some months ago, when a person asked me why I didn’t ride?–I thought I joked when I answered, ‘I want a very old horse to walk around!”
Little would I have known.
The story that I wrote in my column this Thursday in Swedish, I will absoloutly translate into english, and publish here.
And….. our Senior Sanctuary is becoming true. I want to help as many Seniors as possible to have their last time in life as relaxed and full of love and care as possible.
Together in the stable we got experienced horse people that keeps and eye on our Seniors, and ….. also the best veterinarian team with Veterinarian, Stephanie Spöthl in the front.
We will have more seniors coming up, however, we need you, Friends of AWL, to help us get them up from southern Italy to Southern Germany. Where I, and my team will be ready to give them the best last months/years as possible.

Since my children were born they have together with me gone on different missions.
When Olivia was only 3 months old, she and I went to a children hospital with 30 teddy bears!
When Max was 4 months old he went together with me and Olivia to an Italian Orphan home with donations.
Last Wednesday, we went on a new mission, I don't know how many hundreds missions we have been on already. I find it very important to involve my children, not only is it wonderful to be a rescue team. But it's also very nourishing for our souls.
To meet other people, children and animals that need some kind of help. Meeting others that are working with any kind of rescuing. And to see different environments, to understand that we all live differently.
I am incredibly proud over both my children, Max and Olivia!
They are in charge of two puppies traveling from Italy up to our home in Germany. And this Thursday are their new family from Sweden driving down to pick up the puppies for adoption!
Ps. After a mission we always make something fun together. Like taking a wonderful dip in the pool.
Six years ago, we moved up from Italy to Germany. It was my saddest time in life.
I had to leave my dream. My dream, that I had together with others built up so hard.
A Senior Sanctuary Hospice, that we named Casa dell Amore!
My beautiful volunteers made this incredible video and yesterday I revived it from Chiara Ricci, I hadn't seen it since the day we left.
AWL are still working very hard rescuing animals down in Italy. And one day, very soon, will I open up a new Hospice! A bigger and better, together with inspiring people and veterinarians.
The most beautiful and important is to have a veterinarian(s) that you and your animals feel comfortable with.
We are pleased and happy with Vet. Spötl.
She is amazing, and all our animals are feeling that. ChaCha runs in, and if she had her will, she would stay the whole day by her side!
Picked up ChaCha from having a surgery today.
Before she came up to Germany from Italy she tried to eat herself out from a shelter fence. She broke her K9 tooth.
That was a couple of years ago and this week I discovered that her tooth stump was infected.
When sedated they took blood test to see if her values from last time were any better.
Since this drama queen never like when we brush or cut her nails, I had a request they would do that too while she slept!
Now she is acting like a little puppy of 56 kg on the couch. That's Amore!
The amazing way of being a freelance writer is that you get to pick the people you want to met, and the people you want the world to met. I felt like a super mini Oprah, but the feeling of amazing was there.
Mia works with her horse Brumman. Together they hold courses in mindfulness. However, it is Brumman who holds in all the tools, and finds out very fast in every person what they need to work with.
Amazingly, you dont need any horse experience. Just an open mind and heart.
Even if Brumman had had a difficult past, she moved on without bitterness or aggression. When Mia let her heal in her own tempo and with multivitamins and love, Brumman woke up and started to heal humans.
They do not live in the past. Nor do they selfpitty. Its full force in evey moment, the moment of now!
You can read the whole faccinating artcile in the Swedish Magazine Nara.

Thank you so much Mia Holm for your amazing work together with the horses. And Tuss Bennegard for your amazing pictures and donation to AWL
