In Memory of a Beloved Friend

Pictures (c) Ari Privat

You weren’t born into safety,

but saved by a kind Italian woman.

She trusted and let me adopted Duncan to Sweden.

I found a home for you far away,

To my friend Ari (together with his husband) with their deep love for Animals,

open their home for you 2016.

There, you could walk through the four seasons exploring life beneath open skies,

surrounded by peacefulness.

There, you were seen.

There, you were loved.

But now the wind has fallen silent.

Now the wind has quieted.

Beneath the apple tree in the veterinarian’s garden, you took your last breath- safe in the arms of Ari. Never abandoned just as he promised you on the day you arrived.

When we close our eyes, we can still feel you. And in every warm breeze, every soft nose that brushes our skin, a piece of you will always remain.

Thank you Duncan for everything that you gave.

And thank you my friend Ari, and to your husband for giving him a life of freedom, with love, and respect.

A family he could call his own.

Run free now, beloved Duncan.

Corri libero, Duncan, amore mio .

No matter how ready the heart believes it is, it still hurts to say goodbye to a friend with four paws.

That’s Amore!
