Bearded Dragon at the Reptile Veterinarian

0

Our beloved AWL bearded dragon Bobby, had to go to the veterinarian yesterday. I had found a fantastic reptile veterinarian only an hour away from our Animal Sanctuary.
Bobby bleeds from his mouth, especially when he eats grasshoppers!
I am the only one handling Bobby, and during his stay here for 3 weeks, nothing special has happened!

Veterinarian examined him and told me that Bobby got an old fracture on his jaw. The jaw is trying to heal!

We have no idea what or when this could have happened! The former person that cared about him said he thought he bleed from his mouth when shedding.
When rescuing animals, even with a story being told to you about the animal, bring the animal(s) to be examined by an experienced person!

When Bobby came to us a piece of his tail was gone, and several toes missing. We don’t know why…we can only guess. He has been in different homes before finally ending up with us.

For now, he will be without crickets for two weeks, and after that, another examination at the veterinarian!

Relationships of Inspirations

Our new friend Sue brought us to Bowling Green State University to meet other passionate students. We got to see the Marine Biology Lab and meet spoiled Princess in the picture below.

In the Reptile rooms we learned a lot about these fantastic charming reptiles. We never wanted to leave.

Charming coming up to say hello

The are amazing beautiful. Glad I couldnt bring them with me to Germany. Would take them all. Every one has its own personality.

His son, only one day old. Amazing.

Student William, taught me more about reptiles. He is such a humble person and showed us plenty of patient when we all asked him question (and mostly at the same time)

I know I say that about every one I meet. However, this little guy was (is) my favorite. Petting him was like strocking velvet. He jumped right up to my scarfs to check out who the biggest lizard was.

Big fear, I admit and I dont like it. But I admired her from distans. My daughter though petted and fell completly in love with Odot! She was found in a plastic box on the highway. Kind people brought her to the Herpetarium.

Lovely Samantha kind and gentle with every reptile, including us.

Bearded Dragons

A fabulous day together with passionate students at the Reptile Herpetarium/Marine Biology. We learned so much from you all. Thank you!

Lizzy and spike

RIP our dear rescue Dragon Lizard, Spike.

Spike, you are being so missed by us, and especially your “wife” Lizzy. We tried so hard to rescue you a second time, but your little body wanted something else. I remember the evening, two days ago when I tried to hand feed you. I felt strongly that you didn’t want my help anymore. You were done with your life here on Mother Earth.

You and Lizzy were former classroom lizards for children to play with. Then, you guys had to move somewhere else, since the teacher had to move to a place where lizards were not allowed to live.

For many years you filled us with knowledge about reptiles, you taught us how amazing you dragon lizards actually are. Never in my life, I thought my heart would be filled with so much love from you Spike. ❤ I hope your little heart felt our love too.

That’s Amore!
